This webinar features Laura Edgar, EdD, CAE, Executive Director for Milestones Development and Medical Genetics at the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). It’s a “must-see” for anyone entering an ACGME-accredited program of graduate medical education (GME) in July 2018 or planning to apply for a residency position through ERAS 2019.

ACGME establishes educational standards and common program requirements for all ACGME-accredited training programs in the United States and has identified six Core Competencies to be used by accredited GME programs to evaluate their residents and fellows:

  • Patient Care
  • Medical Knowledge
  • Practice-based Learning and Improvement
  • Interpersonal and Communication Skills
  • Professionalism
  • Systems-based Practice

In this webinar, you’ll learn about the importance of these six ACGME Core Competencies and the specialty- and subspecialty-specific Milestones that have been developed within each competency area to guide the learning and assessment of physicians in training.
