USMLE Step 1 Transition to Pass/Fail Only Score Reporting
Score reporting for the United States Medical Licensing Examination® (USMLE®) Step 1 exam will transition from a numeric score and pass/fail outcome to pass/fail only for exams taken on or after January 26, 2022. The USMLE program views this change as an important first step toward facilitating broader, system-wide changes to improve the transition from undergraduate to graduate medical education.

***For eligible international medical schools that receive information on the performance of their students/graduates on USMLE Step 1 and Step 2 through the ECFMG Medical School Web Portal (EMSWP) Performance Data service.
